App: Scanly — QR & Barcode Scanner · Developer: Emil Arnold · Last updated: 7 June 2026
This policy explains what data Scanly ("the app", "we") collects and how it is used. Scanly is built to be private by design: the core scanning and QR‑creation features run entirely on your device.
When you scan a code with the camera, scan a photo from your library, or create a QR code, all of that processing happens on your device. The contents of your scans, your scan history, and the photos you select are never uploaded to us or to any server. Your scan history is stored locally on your device and you can delete it at any time.
To offer and manage subscriptions (Scanly Pro), we use RevenueCat, Inc. as our subscription infrastructure. When you view the paywall, start, restore, or manage a subscription, RevenueCat collects:
This data is used only to provide app functionality (delivering and restoring your subscription). It is not linked to your real‑world identity (Scanly has no login or account), and it is not used to track you across other apps or websites. We do not show ads and we do not use any third‑party advertising or analytics SDKs. Apple also processes your payment under Apple's own privacy policy.
Scanly's Safe Scan checks scanned links on your device using local heuristics to warn you about potentially unsafe ("phishing"/"quishing") links before you open them. This check is best‑effort and is not a guarantee of safety; always use your own judgement before opening any link.
Because we do not collect data that identifies you, we generally cannot associate stored data with a specific person. For purchase data held by RevenueCat or Apple, you have rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability under applicable laws (including the EU GDPR). To exercise these rights or ask questions, contact us (see Support below). You can also delete all local data by deleting the app.
Scanly is rated 4+ and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
